Introduction
Yala Peak Climb one of the favorite smaller mountains among trekkers and adventurer, as the peak
provides excellent adventure and climbing exercise for all types of people interested in mountaineering,
where Yala Peak Climb takes you on top at 5,500 m and 18,044 ft high.
The shortest and of less technical effort to reach the summit of Yala Peak located at the end of beautiful
Langtang valley rim enclosed by high peaks of Langtang Himal groups of mountains with some peaks
within across the border in Tibetan side.
Langtang Himal range situated within Nepal Central Himalaya forms the northern boundary of two
countries Nepal and Tibet / China, where journey takes you close on route of the border and then
heading into high wonderful valley of Langtang Himal.
Yala Peak often visited and climbed by many trekkers and climbers where all age group can reach the
summit of Yala Peak successfully and to enjoy glorious views and panorama of high surrounding peaks
feeling on top of the world for sometimes.
Yala Peak climbing famous and popular due to short duration of adventure holidays that takes to cover
of little more than week frame, where trekkers can experience fabulous walk and climb, after a long
interesting drive from Kathmandu to reach the starting point of the trek at Syabrubesi village.
Walk takes you to high green hills covered with lovely dense rhododendron and pine tree lines and
entering into deep river gorge heading past nice villages inhabited by native of Langtang region the
Tamang people interwoven with Buddhism religion.
As journey progress then enter into a wide scenic valley on reaching at Kyanjin a nice settlement with
number of good lodges enclosed within high mountains of Langtang Himal range.
At Kyanjin with time to enjoy hike to scenic view points to add more exercise and heights for
acclimatization before the climb of Yala Peak, from Kyanjin leaving the last human settlement for
complete wilderness of mountains.
On reaching at the base of Yala Peak setting overnight camps for few days, where next early morning
climb takes you on top of the summit of Yala Peak overlooking breathtaking views of dramatic
landscapes and range of Himalayan peaks up to far horizon with east and west including some peaks in
the south direction.
After a great adventure on top Yala Peak return journey on the same route to reach Kyanjin and then
towards Langtang villages heading back into lush green vegetation and tree lines as walk takes you
downhill to Syabrubesi village for exciting drive back to Kathmandu, with grand memories on Yala Peak
Climbing adventure.
Season for Yala Peak and Langtang Valley Trek and Climb:
March to May and September till November within spring-autumn / fall, best months and high season
from March to May when days are longer with much sunlight hours clear morning till late afternoon,
chances of light shower and snow on mid hills above 2,000 m high.
Spring seasons, hills are alive with bright colors from wild-flowers in full blooming time especially the
rhododendron of various species from tall trees to bush, also a national flower of Nepal.
Another peak times to visit from mid September to November months when days are clear for mountain
views and climb of Yala peak, but with short sun-light hours due to autumn season.
Freezing cold temperature in the morning and night times above 1,800 meters higher can expect snow
above 2,500 m onward.
Brief Standard Outline Itinerary:
Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
Day 02: Morning sightseeing tour with trek and climb preparation.
Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi 1,460 m-6 hrs ride.
Day 04: Trek to Riverside or Lama Hotel 2,240 m – 05 hrs.
Day 05: Trek to Langtang village 3,430 m -05 hrs.
Day 06: Trek to Kyanjin 3,850 m – 04 hrs.
Day 07: Rest-Day for acclimatization and leisure for hike.
Day 08: Trek to Yala peak Base Camp 4,870 m/15,977 ft. Overnight in Camping.
Day 09: Climb to Yala Peak at 5,500 m /1,8044ft and return back to Base camp-07hrs
Day 10: Trek to Kyanjin 3,850 m -05 hrs.
Day 11: Trek to Lama Hotel 2, 470 m -06 hrs.
Day 12: Trek to road head at Syabrubesi-05 hrs.
Day 13: Drive back to Kathmandu – 06 hrs.
Day 14: International Departure homeward bound.
