Mardi Himal a smaller peaks rises above 5,587 m and 18,325 ft high, listed as one of trekking peaks, a broken south west ridges of towering Machhapuchare Himal, in early day taken as part of Machhapuchare or Fish Tail peak, then pioneers and explorer discovered as a separate and individual mountain.
The early explorer named the area of Mardi Himal base camp as ‘Other Sanctuary’ after the main around Annapurna base camp area, an interesting and different to other popular walks of Annapurna region.
Mardi Himal Base Camp Trekking begins with short drive from scenic city Pokhara to reach mid hills around Gurung tribe village at Dhampus, offers incredible panorama of mountain range of Annapurna with Manaslu and tips of Dhaulagiri peaks.
From Dhampus on the high trail past nice village of Potana and Deurali which falls on main route to Landruk-Ghandruk and towards Annapurna base camp, where our route diverts off the main path into complete wilderness of dense alpine tree lines.
Slowly walk follows path leading higher elevation with overnight stops in between walk to reach at Mardi Himal base camp where you will be captivated soaking into beautiful scenery of snow-capped peak range of Annapurna Himalaya.

Season for Mardi Himal Base Camp Trekking:
From March to May and September to November months within spring-autumn / fall, few people takes the chances during summer and monsoon wet season of June to mid September heavy rains on southern sides of Annapurna Himalaya range.
Best months and high season is from March to May when days are longer with much sunlight hours clear morning till late afternoon, chances of light shower and snow on mid hills above 2,000 m high.
Spring seasons, hills are alive with bright colors from wild-flowers in full blooming time especially the rhododendron of various species from tall trees to bush, also a national flower of Nepal.
Mid September to November months another best time for treks to Mardi Himal, where days are clear for mountain views as well for pleasant walks, but much shorter sun-light hours due to autumn season.
Freezing cold temperature in the morning and night times above 1,800 meters higher can expect snow above 2,500 m onward during autumn including months of March to May.
